Our Body Week 32

Another week down and only 5-8 more to go. I still have the feeling, especially with all that is going on lately that we are going to go early ... I am just praying that it is no earlier then 37 weeks which ... holy moly is only 5 weeks away. But honestly, I am not worried or scared at all. I feel pretty confident we have all that we need and (at least the first 3 months) and I feel Chris and I are finally ready to be parents. I am sure stuff will come up that we haven't read or heard about yet but we are strong, we can roll with the punches ... I HOPE!!!

As for me and the baby this week, honestly week 32 so far is a blur. Not much changing with me. Same ole heart burn, uncomfortable moving around, hard time sleeping and baby kicking me like crazy.

I don't feel like I am getting any bigger, but I know the baby is growing. Oh oh I did find my first stretch marks ... how sad. And we tried so hard for months now to avoid them. I guess it was inevitable. At least they aren't too bad and I am sure they will fade away a little in the months to come. I am so hopeful :)

My Body Week 25

Ladies and gentlemen, we have successfully passed another week and Ty is growing strong. We have hit a lot of crazy little pot holes in the road to delivery lately but I am hoping things will start smoothing out now. We have received a tremendous amount of support from family and friends and it is just awesome. Thanks so much guys.

We of course are still following babycenter.com and assume that our baby is developing just on schedule with the what they say is happening ... just makes it easier for us. Week 25 talks about Ty getting a little chunkier now and putting on some baby fat. How cute!!!

As for me, I am starting to get a hang of this bed rest deal and making the most of my time. Still eating well and have been able to really monitor and maintain my weight. Been spending my time counting baby kicks but since I have been on bed rest his kicking habits have changed a lot so now I have to get used to an all new pattern.

Oh I do have the lovely experience of heartburn again now. For the past 5 nights it comes on at about 7pm and lingers until at least 11pm. Hopefully I am able to fall asleep early and miss half of it. A lot of it is due to the bed rest. Even though I am not laying down after I eat, I am so in active my food just isn't digesting fast enough. Good thing, I am not as hungry any more, but thing is stomach acid in the throat ... OUCH!!!
Peace Out

My Body Week 21 ... Are We There Yet?

Okay, I think Chris, myself and the baby have stepped into some weird time warp thingy where time just seems to slow down way too much. Now that we are finally more then half way through it seems to be taken forever. Not only with us, but the baby also. Well the babies growth is started to slow down significantly and now its mainly just focused on getting some fat. There's more going on in there, check it out at babycenter.com, week 21.

As for me, at some point during the week along my usual outings and adventures someone hit me with a fairy heartburn stick. So sweet!!! So every night now after 7pm I get these immense waves of heart burn in my upper chest and throat. Oh but don't worry about me ... its for the baby.

And if you haven't noticed, the babies movements, yeah they creep my out. But to make it even better, now we can actually see my belly move when it kicks. CREEPY!!! Just wait until we can actually make out body parts. I told Chris when that starts I will just put up a pillow on my chest so he can see it but I can't. :)
Oh and can someone please get me some WATERMELON!!! Lots of it.

My Body Week 13

Hooray!!! The first trimester is nearing an end. I think we will hold a party. Well at least a mini party with just Chris and I and a bottle of Apple Cider. :)

Here is what the babycenter.com has to say about our 13th week of pregnancy ... lots have happened in the past few weeks ... exciting developments.

As for me, I am loads better and getting stronger each day. I have a lot more energy and will power to do stuff. I still take naps in the afternoon or early evening ... okay not really naps ... I sleep for at least 2 hours or more. But the level of energy when I am awake is great. I can actually get up and do some cleaning and help around the house in the mornings and afternoons. And I have even started to get back into using our Wii Fit game. I was actually sore the first few days after I started. That is awesome because I know that it will benefit me now and later after the baby is born. I am so scared at the possibility of not being able to take off my baby weight. I know pretty lame ... but I am.

Lets see ... what else is up. Oh oh my heartburn problems ... well I think I have that tamed now. You see I have been eating cereal pretty regularly each morning and my problems would start shortly after eating. Something hit me early this week and I thought to myself maybe my body is starting to have problems with the milk. So I decided for the next few days I wouldn't have any milk in the morning and sure enough my heartburn has almost disappeared. Late at night maybe right before I got to bed I may have a few small waves of burning but nothing compared to before. I know I need my calcium though so I am thinking of getting some pills to take along with the prenatal vitamins each day.

And the last thing I can think of that is new is I am starting to have problems with my lower back, upper right check which Chris and I believe to be my Sciatica Nerve. Chris has a book for expecting fathers that talks about it and say it is common and gives ways for dads to comfort and massage their wives. So I am looking forward to that. Sometimes it is worse then others but mostly it is still bearable.

Mellowed Out

Just a quick post to say that finally things are calming down and mellowing out for me. This pregnancy thing doesn't seem all that bad any more. The heartburn is still kicking my butt and I know it isn't going to get any better but worse as it goes on but its for a good cause.

Chris and I were looking into www.babybeat.com and would love to rent one of the Doppler meters for a few months so we can have fun and hear the heartbeat whenever we want. Just hope we can get the money for it soon.

Peace Out,

My Body Week 12

Hey everyone, so sorry my weekly update is so late. My cousin Karsten and his wife went in to induce labor on Thursday and Chris and I have been trying to stay with them through the entire process. Their baby was finally due early this morning, a little after 1 am. Chris has some pictures and I know he is going to want to do a special post about the whole process so I want say much more. But I am finally getting some rest and have time to catch up.

This week we passed a huge milestone in our baby journey. We finally reached 12 weeks and the risk of anything happening has been reduced. Now it is all up to our genetics and stuff to be in line. Here is what babycenter.com has to say about week 12.

As for me:

I am getting a lot better now, just like all the books and shows promised (unless it is all just mental and I am only willing it to happen). I haven't been nauseous in some time and I have a little more energy. I could use a lot more energy but anything more is good for me now.

Most of the other annoying symptoms have disappeared but now I am left with a daily case of gas and heartburn. It gets progressively worse through out the day and after each meal. So if you want to catch me at my happiest, call me around 9am before I eat anything.

I also feel so RELIEVED! We finally shared our news with the world so no more secrets. And it is awesome to receive all the love and prayers from our friends and family. THANKS GUYS!!!

Peace Out,
Philippa Channer

My Body Week #11

Hey Folks! We have made it past another successful week and have only 1 more week before we can share our news with the world. Can't wait. I am excited at how things are progressing and I am so thankful that the first trimester is almost over.

Here is what babycenter.com has to say about week 11 of our pregnancy.

As for me I am starting to feel a lot better.

I am still sleepy but it isn't as bad. Most days I am still taking naps but it helps and I don't feel as tired throughout the day. I do get super exhausted really fast when I try to do stuff around the house though. But I know that the more I push myself the more I can take ... just like working out and exercising.

Haven't been nauseous in a while now which I just love. No vomit. Still light headed occasionally but nothing bad.

I am super duper gassy though, from both ends. Some days more then others (today is bad). It can be irritating at times.

Heartburn is starting to be a common thing also. Especially later on in the day close to when I want to relax and sleep.

Other then that, still enjoying the ride and can't wait to see what else is in store. Next doc appointment in 4 weeks, seems forever but I guess it isn't too bad.
Peace Out,
Philippa Channer
